SUMMARY:Workshop\, Mayan Adventures\, Yucatan\, Mexico
DESCRIPTION:Guided by: Sparrow Hart \nRegular pricing after December 15: $1400/$2600 \n\n	Workshop Mayan Adventures\, Yucatan\, Mexico\n	$1\,400.00\n\n	\n	\n \n \n Choose your payment option\n \n \n \n \n Pay Deposit \n \n \n \n \n Pay in Full \n \n \n \n	\n \n Pay a deposit of $500.00 per item \n	\n\n \n Workshop Mayan Adventures\, Yucatan\, Mexico quantity\n	\n	\n\n Add to cart\n\n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	Category: Workshop\n	\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n________________________________________ \nEarth\, Sea\, Soul… and Yourself \nWe all are in relationship\, and the solid or shifting boundaries and definitions of self and world have everything to do with who we are\, how we perceive ourselves\, and our potential and possibilities for joy or pain. \n \nThe ancient world held that we have two natures. One part lives a practical life in ordinary existence\, while the other maintains a boundless and fluid awareness in a mysterious and magical world of light and energy. When our two sides are in balance and communion\, we feel freer\, more alive\, fulfilled\, and whole. We can find the entrance to this ancient and sacred garden inside us by entering the unknown and forgotten parts of our Self. \nWe will focus on developing awareness of our dual natures\, our “right and left sides\,” and enriching our ability to act on that wisdom. Our program involves trips to ruins\, forms of breathwork/trance to increase contact with the mysterious and unfamiliar parts of our natures\, and exercises to cultivate openness and deep relaxation. \nWe will integrate our activities around the rich natural and cultural blessings of the Mayan world — from the healing waters of underground rivers\, the sea and surrounding beaches and jungle\, to rituals at ruins\, sacred wells\, power places\, and other sites. Our home will be among the palm trees next to the clear turquoise waters and warm sands of the Caribbean. Balmy breezes blow off a sea rich with coral reefs and tropical fish. Nearby\, underground rivers with numerous caverns offer opportunities to swim\, snorkel\, or scuba dive. \nWe invite you to join us for a week of retreat\, vacation\, fun\, and adventure as we journey on a quest for a richer\, more spacious\, and creative sense of self. It calls to us in our dreams and longings. It resides in our bodies\, profound and primal in its ability to ‘make sense.’ \nTogether we will explore\, identify\, and share our deeper vision as well as what limits our joy\, freedom\, or loving. We’ll use poetry\, sacred dance\, yoga\, and creative imagination to investigate our inner landscapes along with the outer beauty of the Mayan Yucatan. \nRegistration: Pricing is for individuals ($1300) or friends/couples registering together ($2500) before Dec. 20th and $1400/$2600 after. \n\nDirections\n\n\n  \nParticipants will be responsible for arranging airplane reservations to Cancun. If you want to co-ordinate travel from the airport to Rancho with other workshop members\, you may be able to find people to share rides. As we get closer to the dates of the workshops\, we will email a list of other participants to you. \nArrival in Cancun: You will arrive at Cancun International Airport\, and you will be guided to the immigration lines first. At immigration they will examine your passport\, stamp it\, and return it to you. You will then move on to the baggage area to get your luggage. On the plane you will be given a customs declaration form (short — one page) for goods you are bringing into the country. If you are bringing gifts their value must be under $300.00 to be duty-free. \nOnce you have your luggage\, you will go through customs. You will be asked to push a button at a “stop light” and give them the customs declaration form. If the light is green\, you will pass on through and no luggage check will be made. If the light is red\, you will be asked to open your bags. There is no problem with bringing in clothes and personal items; the luggage check is a formality. When you leave customs\, you will walk out and be greeted by guides meeting groups\, guides from specific hotels\, and many people wanting to help (sell you something.). If prior arrangements have been made for someone to meet you this is where they will be. Car rental booths are in this area as well as taxis. \nAfter you pass through customs and are exiting the arrival area at the Cancun airport\, you may be offered little bags with publicity magazines\, Cancun Tips. These come in handy if you are planning to travel around as they have maps of Cancun\, Playa del Carmen\, Cozumel\, etc. \nGetting to destination from Airport: There are several options: a) Car Rental. This is usually cheaper – quite inexpensive\, if arranged online and you have confirmation upon arrival. Daily rental fees can be expensive in Mexico. b) At the window marked “Ground Transportation” inside the terminal you can pay for an airport taxi. Travel time to Rancho Sakol is approximately 30-35 minutes and will cost $40-$45. c) You can also take a more complicated but less expensive route. As you exit the international airport\, ask for the A-D-O bus and where to find it. Someone will tell you. Buy a ticket for Puerto Morelos and get on the Playa Express — (not the northbound bus marked “Centro.”) – which takes the highway south to Playa del Carmen. Buy a ticket to Puerto Morelos for about $8\, and the bus will let you out at the P Morelos stop. From there\, cross the highway by walking through the underpass\, and then take a taxi to Rancho Sakol for about $3. This is more adventurous and less expensive\, and it will take about 1-1/2 hours instead of the 25 minutes by taxi. Taxis are strictly controlled in the Cancun area\, so taxis that bring you from the airport are not allowed to solicit return fares from Puerto Morelos. \nYou may be offered free tours or discount rental cars at several booths in the airport which appear to be tourist information booths\, but these can be marketing fronts for time-share sales at beach resorts. Accepting this offer will entail a 4 hour sales pitch to sit through. \nAirport Bus Schedule — “Riveria Autobuses”: Direct: AIRPORT / PUERTO MORELOS \nAirport to Puerto Morelos departure times: \n9:15 / 10:45 / 11:45 / 12:45 / 13:45/ 14:45 / 15:45 / 16:45 / 17:45 / 19:00 / 20:30 \nWhen you arrive at Puerto Morelos Bus Office on highway\, go through underpass\, and catch a taxi to Rancho\, around 35 pesos/$3. \nDriving Instructions from Cancun Airport \nLeave airport\, Sur\, Mex 307\, divided highway\, 4 lanes \nDirection: South (Sur)\, Chetumal\, Playa del Carmen\, Xcaret \nApproximately 20 minutes\, pass the Retorno Cancun\, then see sign to right for Puerto Morelos. Highway divides\, stay to center lanes\, to your left. \nApproach stoplights in left lane — turn left at stoplights. \nAbout 2 km\, approaching town\, turn right at first street. \nAlmost immediately\, turn right onto unpaved road. \n(If you miss this turn\, pass over speed bump\, turn right at stop sign\, then turn right again at next street by church. The unpaved road will be in front of you.) \nAbout 2 km\, see signs for Rancho Sakol along the way. \nTurn left into Rancho at sign. \nPark car in space provided in front of office. \nFinding Rancho Sakol\nTravel south (right) from the airport follow signs to “Chetumal” on Highway #307\, (there is only one). Puerto Morelos\, a small fishing village\, is the first town you will come to. You will come to a gas station and a traffic light on the main highway. Turn Left off the main highway and go down the road about 1.2 miles to the town. Turn Right on the second street (you are at the town square). Follow this street until it curves Left at the small navy post. Immediately turn right. The parking lot for the ferry will be on your left. Then continue on this road for about 1/2 mile. The road will curve left\, then right\, then right. Rancho Sakol will then be on your left\, behind the pines. \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nLodging: \nOur accommodations are in a beautiful and relaxing beachfront villa. Rooms include private baths with hot water\, suspended beds\, private porch hammocks as well as a shaded hammocks area by the beach. Pictures can be viewed on the website: www.ranchosakol.com \nRooms are double occupancy\, and include daily self-service breakfast buffet (with fresh fruits\, yogurt\, cereal\, granola\, sweet breads\, juice\, coffee\, and tea)\, use of kitchen facilities\, all program expenses (including transportation and admission fees)\, and use of bicycles and snorkel gear. Local transport\, other meals\, and personal expenses are extra. \nIf you desire a private room it can be arranged at an extra cost. We require a $500 deposit per person at the time of registration and full payment by December 31st. \nThe use of bikes and snorkel equipment are provided by Rancho Sakol and are included in your reservation. If you have your own snorkeling mask you may want to bring it. There is a gift shop on-site as well as massage and various forms of energy work. Scuba diving instruction is also available. Helpful English-speaking staff are available to give travel tips about the local area. \nRancho has different massage therapists each year. They offer a variety of techniques from deep tissue\, Swedish\, Ayurvedic\, relaxing\, shiatsu\, reflexology\, Reiki\, & various forms of energy work.. They have a massage signup sheet with various times listed. You just write your name down and show up at that time. Several massage therapists are on hand\, so you can usually schedule a time easily. There is no need to book ahead. \nPuerto Morelos is within easy walking distance for restaurants and shops\, and most anything you would want\, or need is easy to find. Cancun and Playa del Carmen are 30 minutes away. If you plan to come early and/or stay late you may contact Rancho directly through their website about reserving extra nights\, or you may stay at one of the other hotels\, or AirBnB’s in Puerto Morelos. \nFood and Water: \nRancho has a full kitchen that they allow guests to use. There’s also a guest refrigerator and pantry area to store food or snacks. After breakfast hours they appreciate guests to do their own dishes after using the kitchen. None of the rooms have kitchenettes as the large common kitchen is used by all. \nThere are 5-gallon bottles of purified water in each of the rooms and the kitchen. This water\, as well as the bottles purchased in town\, is safe to drink. Rancho also has ice trays filled with purified water. The sink and shower water is not purified. We recommend using purified bottled water to brush your teeth. The city water is potable water though not recommended for drinking\, as some digestive systems are more sensitive than others. If you forget and brush your teeth with the tap water\, you likely won’t notice a thing. Few people get sick from the water in Mexico anymore. \nPuerto Morelos has at least half a dozen really good restaurants. The rule of thumb for food safety is this: If the food is cooked at the time of order and not before you have the best chance of a terrific meal. Do not order a “plate of the day” – no one knows how long the food has been in the pot. \n\nWhat to Bring\n\n\nMoney: \nIn Mexico credit cards are useful in many places – but not all. They will work at many large hotels or for big purchases like car rentals etc.\, but they are often not useful for day to day items. When you do use a credit card\, you will likely get a slightly better exchange rate than you would locally in a small town. Most places want payment in either pesos or dollars. We suggest bringing along extra cash – hardly anyone takes Travelers Checks anymore. There are many money exchange booths (the sign will read “Cambio”) which will change dollars into pesos and vice-versa when you are leaving. \nThere are two places in Puerto Morelos (P–M) to exchange money. You may want to exchange some money at the airport\, but you will get a better rate of exchange in P–M. Within town\, the rates vary slightly. For example\, a hotel might give you 17 pesos per dollar where a “Cambio” would give 17.5. There is also an ATM machine in Puerto Morelos… you must have your PIN # to get money\, and you will receive pesos. \nPersonal Items: \n Sunscreen\, sunglasses\, beach towels\, hat\, cool clothes\, light jacket and pants\, usual toiletries\, and assortment of clothes. We recommend a pair of light walking shoes (running type shoes are fine) and some form of sandals like Tevas.

SUMMARY:Vision Quest\, Somerset Lake\, Vermont
DESCRIPTION:Guided by: Sparrow Hart\n\n\n	Vision Quest Somerset Lake\, VT\n	$1\,595.00\n\n	\n	\n \n \n Vision Quest Somerset Lake\, VT quantity\n	\n	\n\n Add to cart\n\n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	Category: Vision Quest\n	\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscover Your Purpose\, Passion\, and Path… your Nature in Nature …  \n \nThe fertile Earth reveals herself in lush woodlands\, streams\, and lakes. Moose wander a forest thick with ferns and moss-covered boulders. Beaver ponds and the lake’s glassy water reflect mountains and sky. Life abounds – almost erupts – as geese honk\, ducks quack\, and loons call across the distance. Beaver and otter patrol the shoreline as eagle and osprey dive for fish. Hiking assessment: Moderate – about 2-1/2 miles\, rolling to mostly flat. \nFor a more-detailed description\, see What is a Vision Quest? \n\nFAQs\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	\n	\n\n \n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n I feel drawn to do this\, but it seems overwhelming. How do I know if I’m ready? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	Everyone has fear when approaching a vision fast\, even those of us who have gone out twenty times or more. \nRemember that you do not do it all at once. From our living room it seems an enormous leap\, but it is in fact many smaller steps\, each one do-able. We write a letter of intent\, arrange our schedule\, make travel plans\, pack. We arrive in a new place\, meet our guide and companions\, and tell our stories. In a small group we share our fears\, address physical and safety needs\, learn about ceremony and what to expect\, practice sleeping out under the stars. By the time we walk alone out of base camp\, we have already left behind most of the fears and questions that seem so imposing to us now. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n I am currently taking medication. Would I have to go off it to do a vision quest? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	That question is between you and your physician. There are some medications that it may make sense to lower the dosage or do without during the fasting phase. For some conditions that is out of the question\, and many of these medicines should not be taken on an empty stomach. \nMany people who have to take medication have undergone vision quests\, bringing with them small amounts of crackers\, juice\, or other supplements to allow them to continue a healing regimen. \nMedicine is about becoming whole: physically\, emotionally\, and spiritually. Taking care of you physical health is important. It is not ‘cheating.’ A vision quest contains many kinds of ‘medicine\,’ for healing the heart\, soul\, and spirit. Remember that you will be alone\, in wilderness without books\, conversation\, electric lights\, hot showers\, and entertainment. You will be ‘fasting’ in many other ways. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n There are vision quests offered in various parts of the country. What difference might this make in my quest experience? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	In thinking about a vision quest\, you might consider it as an interaction between ‘set’ and ‘setting.’ ‘Set’ encompasses what you bring to the experience – emotions\, expectations\, motivations\, intentions\, etc. – while setting is what appears to be outside – landscape\, climate and weather\, animals\, etc. \nYour set\, whether positive or challenging (desires and demons\, purposes and fears) will likely be the same regardless of where you undertake a vision quest\, while the settings can vary widely in different locations and different times of the year. \nParticular settings do have unique qualities and differing energies. Death Valley is a land of grand vistas and immense space\, is dominated by the elements of air and fire\, while\, Vermont\, and with its wildlife\, streams\, and lakes embodies the elements of earth and water. (A more detailed description of sites is provided on the website www.questforvision.com) \nSome people consider it important to quest within the area and ecology closest to where they live\, while others feel drawn to go outside of what is familiar to them. However\, a quest always involves the encounter between the known and unknown\, and the desire to discover what is unknown and wanting to emerge in ourselves will lead us to approach even the most familiar settings in new and unusual ways. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n Couldn’t I go out in the woods by myself and do this alone? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	Yes\, you could\, but it would be very different. Although the core of the vision questing process is solitary\, traditionally this activity was never done alone. There have always been guides\, mentors\, and shamans who prepared the initiate to cross the threshold into the sacred world. These same guides were there when the initiate returned\, to help him/her make sense of the journey and translate vision into the forms and terms of social and everyday life. \nIf our intention is to journey beyond the self we know and are familiar with\, leaving the preparation in the hands of that self is poor strategy. “Old tapes\,” habits\, and repetitious ways of looking at the world can easily accompany us into the wilderness and back. There are important teachings about ritual\, ceremony\, physical preparation\, and the methodology of the questing process that we would not get if we were doing this alone. And the presence of guides and companions who provide different perspectives\, compassionate mirroring\, honest feedback\, and stories in which we see ourselves in new ways is an invaluable resource. \nGoing it alone can be powerful. Fasting\, solitude\, and the contact with the spirit in nature are excellent teachers. But the instruction involved in the preparation phase and the emotional support and help in integrating one’s story make it a qualitatively different experience. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n Do I have to be in good physical shape or experienced in camping or hiking? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	Many people have undergone a vision fast with little or no camping experience. You will be sent an equipment list long before you leave home and be well-instructed in safety procedures and shelter techniques during the preparation phase. The basics\, such as backpack\, sleeping bag\, etc.\, can often be borrowed from a friend or rented from camping equipment stores if you don’t have them. We can sometimes be of help (especially in Vermont programs) recommending or providing equipment. \nIf you can walk for a mile and a half with a backpack on\, you are likely in good enough physical condition to participate in a quest. Since people often enroll months in advance\, you can practice walking with a pack and build endurance if you are in doubt. Over the years people with various physical disabilities and conditions have been able to successfully undertake vision quests. \nDuring the solo time\, your activity level will be up to you. Some questers are very active while fasting\, undertaking long walks\, performing ceremonies\, or staying up through the night\, while others are quiet or contemplative\, staying in a relatively small area. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n I don’t know if I can go four days without eating? Is this something a normal person can do? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	Surprisingly\, fasting is rarely a problem for anyone. Eating is highly conditioned by routines\, schedules\, or stimuli such as the smell of food. Or it can often be driven by unconscious emotions\, such as escaping from stress. Away from the everyday patterns and habits of our lives\, it is a much different experience. \nHunger itself is usually momentary and fleeting during the first two days of a fast. Later\, it often disappears altogether. The main purpose and effect of fasting is the expansion of awareness and the change of consciousness it engenders. There can be physical challenges to not eating\, such as a lower level of energy\, but hunger is unlikely to be one of them. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n What do I need to do to prepare for a Vision Quest? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	These FAQ’s cannot truly describe the feeling of community that forms around the experience of a vision quest: the sense of belonging\, being heard\, and making a difference. This can be unexpected\, as our pre-arrival time is focused on our personal intentions. These communities often stay in touch for years after a quest\, writing\, providing support\, and sometimes getting together for reunions and further journeys. \nParticipation in a vision quest starts long before one walks into the wilderness. The seeds may have been planted long ago\, and your arrival may seem part of a process unfolding steadily and naturally. Or the decision may be sudden\, a crisis or transition causing something long hidden to burst forth with a compelling force\, one cannot deny or refuse. It may just seem “the right thing to do\,” an affirmative way to answer a question\, mark a change\, or renew the spirit. \nWhatever path brings you here\, whether you feel called or driven\, you enter a process that is solitary\, unique\, and universal. We stand alone before our mother\, the Earth; we stand before our gods and goddesses; we stand in our authentic selves. As kindred souls have done for millennia\, we come to experience a dying and rebirth. \nGood preparation is important\, and you will begin well before leaving home. You will be asked to write a letter of intent\, responding to questions designed to help the process of focusing and clarifying your purpose. You will undertake a medicine walk in the month before you arrive and read The Trail to the Sacred Mountain (provided in your welcome pack)\, a handbook giving detailed information about the concrete\, mythical\, and allegorical structure of the quest experience. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n	\n	\n\n \n a\n \n\n \n\n \n What typically happens on a Vision Quest? \n\n \n\n \n\n	\n	\n\n	\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	Upon your arrival\, we will establish our preparation or base camp. Having said good-bye to friends and family\, having left home and packed the equipment and belongings deemed necessary\, one’s purpose becomes focused and clarified. Four days of council are devoted to completing your preparation. Others may be preparing with you and\, though focused on their own solitary quest; their presence lends support and provides insight. Friendships and a deep sense of spiritual community are unexpected blessings. \nThe days will pass quickly and there is much to be done. Our meetings will focus on creating physical and emotional balance; refining and clarifying one’s myths\, goals\, and life story\, and how these relate to your purpose. You will receive instruction on traditional forms and vision quest “events:” creating ceremony and ritual\, the mirroring aspects of nature; myths\, and allegories of the vision quest; the dynamics of fasting; safety procedures; medicine wheel teachings\, and ritual forms of purification and attunement. You will be helped to integrate these teachings into your personal worldview and situation. \nWe then journey to an area where you will find your place of power\, where you will live alone for four days and nights. In sunrise ceremony you will take your leave and cross the threshold into the Sacred World. During this time you will be completely alone\, but close enough to base camp to receive aid\, should you need it. Once a day you will visit a designated place (your stone pile)\, leaving a sign that communicates your safety. Other than this minimal requirement\, your time is yours to be in intimate contact with nature in its many forms\, with yourself and the Spirit-in-all-things. \nReturning to base camp marks the beginning of incorporation. There you will be welcomed with simple ceremony and the sharing of food. With reflection and celebration\, we begin the journey back into the human world. The work of incorporation is to again take on the cloak of our civilized life and to wear it lightly and gracefully. \nThis phase of the program lasts three days. After washing off the dirt and dust of wilderness we will feast together\, observing the fast-paced world we left behind. We will participate in an Elder’s Council\, sharing stories of our time in the “Sacred World.” Your story will be attentively witnessed and listened to\, and you will be assisted in finding your truths and meanings\, owning your gifts\, and claiming your power. \nHow are the seeds we bring back to be planted in the daily world with its dysfunction and distraction? How can we protect what is important and sacred\, nurture it\, and make it grow? What gifts do we have to give to our people? We must ask and answer these questions if our vision is to guide us in daily life. We must find a way to say\, “Yes!” to life as it is to be effective and give thanks for the gifts we’ve been given. \nAfter we have held our councils\, had our feasts\, and shared our ceremonies we must part. With renewed commitment and gratitude for the insight\, rich experience\, and friendship we have shared\, it is time to walk our “path with heart\,” re-entering the world we left behind to make real our vision. There the living work of the vision quest awaits us. \n\n \n \n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n\nEnrollment\n\n\nCosts and Registration: The cost of a vision quest program is $1395 if a participant registers 30 days or more in advance\, $1595 thereafter.  Advance registration with a non-refundable deposit of $400 is required\, with the balance due 30 days prior to the start of the program. \nUpon receipt of your registration and deposit\, you will be sent a preparation packet containing a guidebook on vision questing\, as well as other information related to transportation\, equipment\, recommended readings\, etc. In addition\, you will be expected to write a letter of intent and return a health questionnaire and liability release form. \nThink seriously about whether you are ready to do this before you commit. Indecision and anxiety — especially as the quest dates approach — are a common experience\, and the choice to act from our purposes and intentions rather than our fears is an important and empowering decision. Should unavoidable circumstances make your participation impossible\, your deposit — if you notify us at least a month prior to your scheduled starting date — may be applied toward another program taking place within a year of your registration. You will receive a full refund for any courses canceled by Circles of Air and Stone\, although this happens rarely. \nIf your intent to undertake a quest is sincere and you cannot currently afford the full cost of the program\, payment plans and/or scholarship assistance can sometimes be worked out depending on need\, circumstances\, and available funds — through calling or emailing the office. The world we live in has huge disparities of wealth and income\, and people have very different perspectives on what is inexpensive\, affordable\, or extravagant. We offer this option for up to two participants on each program. \nScheduling: \nThe experience of a vision quest is profound\, and it has the potential to be a pivotal point in major life transitions. We highly recommend declaring your intention early to allow for a thorough preparation. Early enrollment facilitates scheduling\, since courses often fill up; makes travel arrangements simpler and more economical; and it prevents any unnecessary cancellations of programs. \n\nDirections\n\n\nDirections:\nWe will meet on the porch of the Putney Co-op at 9:30 AM on the first day of the quest. Programs finish around Noon on the last day. \nThe town of Putney is located off Interstate 91\, at Exit 4 in Vermont. Interstate 91 runs north-south through western New England. Coming from the east\, I-91 may be intersected via routes 101 and 9 in New Hampshire\, Route 2 in Massachusetts\, or I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike). From the west\, I-91 is intersected via Routes 7 and 9 through Albany NY\, Interstate 90 in Springfield\, MA\, and I-84 in Hartford\, CT. From the north\, I-91 is met by I-89 in White River Jct.\, VT. \nUpon taking exit 4\, follow the signs to Putney. You will be looking for the Putney Co-op\, which is on the south end of the town of Putney. If you have been traveling north on Interstate 91\, you will turn left at the end of the freeway exit and proceed up the hill. At the top of the hill the Putney Co-op will be directly across the street from you. \nIf you have been traveling south on I-91\, you will turn right at the end of the exit\, proceeding north on Route 5. In less than 1/4 mile\, the Putney Co-op will be on your left. \nTravel: \nIf coming by plane or bus: The nearest major airports are in Hartford\, CT\, Manchester\, NH\, Boston\, MA\, and Albany\, NY. There are smaller airports in Burlington\, VT and Keene\, NH\, the Keene airport being the closest. There is a bus service from any of these airports\, and from most cities in the New England/New York area to Brattleboro\, VT. Brattleboro is approximately 10 miles south of Putney. If you make arrangements in advance\, we can most likely pick you up at the bus station in Brattleboro. \nOften participants will carpool; sharing the expenses of a rental car\, or gas and mileage costs if someone is local or brings a vehicle. A month before the start of the program\, we will provide you with email addresses and phone numbers of the other participants if you wish to explore this option. \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nFood:\nThe responsibility for food during the preparation and post-quest phases is up to the individual participant. There are several small\, but good restaurants in the center of Putney\, as well as a general store and a co-op with excellent produce and health food items. We will be meeting about 5 miles from the center of town\, which makes it quite accessible for provisions and supplies. Sharing of meals\, rides\, etc. among the participants often is the case. \nLodging: \nMost participants in a vision-fasting quest choose to camp for the preparation and return phases of the quest\, and there is camping space available. However\, there are those who prefer to stay in other accommodations during these phases\, and there are many motels and inns available within 30 minute drive from our meeting area. The choice and responsibility for accommodations is up to the individual quester. \n\nGear List\n\n\nDownload the Gear Checklist

SUMMARY:Embracing the Transition - A Passage Experience for Elders. (Southern VT)

As the body and ego diminish\, Soul and Spirit can be embodied as master and sage\, generating and gifting active wisdom and compassion to a yearning world. The struggles of a lifetime may recede\, and our true nature as conscious and loving beings is revealed to us. \nThe elder’s journey has traditionally been taken as a rite of passage. Passage implies a movement — the end of one thing and the beginning of something else. The endings associated with aging can be stark and challenging. Elders have endured the passage of time\, and time’s passage can result in loss… loss of the wonder experienced as a child… the loss of friends\, family\, lovers\, power\, prestige\, strength\, social validation\, or dreams that were once so important… \nThe poet Mary Oliver speaks of the “black river of loss\, whose other side is salvation.” What this means for each of us\, and how that might be lived in our elderhood\, will be central to our exploration. \nAn experience of passage through elderhood requires that the rules\, roles\, and routines of normal life be left behind. In simple and profound ways\, we’re ushered into an unmediated encounter with life\, primal reality. In so doing we can experience a resetting of our compass\, a reconnection to core truths and commitments that are alive and ready to guide us now. \n  \nWe will affirm the terror and wonder\, the agony and ecstasy of human experience. Supporting each other in facing what’s ending — or what needs to end in order to live fully — we will share processes for opening to what wants to emerge\, what demands to live through us in the time we have left. \nWith the aid of poetry\, song\, dreams\, ritual\, and soulful community we will go to Nature – the world which created us – to find aspects of our own nature that long to be cultivated and lived in order to complete our journey without regret. \nIn this unique Embracing the Transition: A Passage Experience for Elders\, we will live into the inevitable transition\, finding our way of being fully alive. Traditional provisions of solitude and fasting will be individually modified to fit our capacities\, but the deep intention of our gathering will be bold and uncompromising: “living as if our last.” As the wheel inevitably turns\, how will we live? \n  \n  \n\nDirections\n\n\nAddress:\n130 Banning Road\nPutney\, Vermont\n05346 \nInterstate 91 runs north-south from New Haven\, Connecticut through western Massachusetts and half-way up the eastern side of Vermont. You should be able to find your way to it with any New England map. Take exit 4 in Vermont and follow the signs to the center of Putney. \nAs you come to the center of town\, you will be on route 5 (Main St.)\, heading north. When you arrive at the center take a left at The Putney General Store and head up the hill on Westminster West Road. Follow Westminster West road for 1 mile. You will pass the elementary school on your right and you will take the first left turn after the school. (West Hill Rd.) \nStay on West Hill Road. At the 1.4-mile point there is a fork in the road where there is a left up to the Putney School. You stay right. Continuing on West Hill\, until you are about 2.5 miles from where you turned off Westminster West road\, there will be a road off to the right marked Putney Mountain Road. Take that right. \nThe road will fork almost immediately. Stay right. Proceed up Putney Mountain Road for 1.6 miles and you will see a road on the right marked Banning Road. Take a right on Banning Road and go for 0.6 miles. There will be a charcoal house with blue trim on the right. It’s close to the road. The mailbox will say “Sparrow Hart.” \nIf coming by plane or bus: The nearest major airports are in Hartford\, CT\, Manchester\, NH\, Boston\, MA\, and Albany\, NY. There are smaller airports in Burlington\, VT and Keene\, NH\, the Keene airport being the closest. There is a bus service from any of these airports\, and from most cities in the New England /New York area to Brattleboro\, VT. Brattleboro is approximately 10 miles south of Putney. If you make arrangements in advance\, we can most likely pick you up at the bus station in Brattleboro. \nIf you have any difficulty\, you can leave a message with Sparrow —  802-387-6624 \n We look forward to seeing you!! \nOur program will begin at 1:00 PM on September 1 and finish the afternoon of September 5th. \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nFood: \nFood will be provided\, and we’ll share preparation and clean-up responsibilities for breakfasts and dinners. Lunches will consist of sandwich and other items put out on a table in a “fix-your-own” fashion with no formal plans for a group meal. If you have any special needs or requirements around food\, please let us know. Feel free to bring your own snacks or treats. \nLodging: \nOur program will take place in and around a lovely hilltop home with fields and views of far mountains. Lodging will be a mix of camping with options for beds inside at a reasonable fee. If you plan to be camping\, please bring a tent\, sleeping bag\, and some kind of sleeping mattress or pad. There are spaces inside for an extra fee\, and these will be dormitory style\, 2-3 beds per room with a shared bath. The beds will have a mattress\, bottom sheet\, and pillow\, so please bring a sleeping bag or bedding. We can also provide a tent for your stay for $25\, please let us know ahead of time as quantities are limited. \n\nWhat to Bring\n\n\nWhat to bring: \nBring appropriate clothing. We will be spending time outdoors each day\, so bring clothes that will keep you comfortable.  Light boots\, sun hat\, rain gear recommended. Sunscreen and bug spray may be helpful. \nBring whatever personal toiletries you require\, a writing pad or journal\, pen or pencil\, flashlight\, etc.. There will also be an (optional) overnight solo\, so bring a sleeping bag and some kind of sleeping mat if you plan to take advantage of this. \nWe will have an altar to remind and connect us to sacred space\, and you can add your energy there by bringing whatever sacred or ritual objects are important to you. Photos\, power objects\, drums\, guitars\, etc. are also welcome. \nA full list of what to bring will be sent after enrollment\, so you can ignore the “Gear List” below. \nDownload the Gear Checklist

Come and join us as we celebrate the 26th year of men gathering to learn\, grow\, and challenge themselves together! For over two decades men have journeyed to western New England to renew themselves and drink from the rich waters of the male spirit\, drawing sustenance from the deep emotions and passionate spirituality that take root and flower in this extraordinary environment. \n \nThe ills and issues of modern men are not just a result of problems in one’s psychological history or daily life — work\, relationships\, money\, or bad parenting. They are part of a mythic dismemberment\, being cut off from the great cycles and stories that have guided humanity through the millennia. Each year we use one of those profound stories — The Grail; Water of Life; the Garden of Eden; Wizard of Oz — to dive into our griefs\, gifts\, hurts and healing within the context of connection to the earth\, elements\, animals\, ancestors… the great movements in the larger web of life. This year we’ll do so again\, unpacking our relationships with Father\, Mother\, Nature\, and God to come closer to that dream we’re meant to live. \nThrough this reconnection to something larger our healing takes place\, for it’s only within our modern\, unexamined myths of individualism\, isolation\, and disconnection — from the feminine; from our bodies\, feelings\, and dreams; from nature and the earth — that the ills and issues of modern men take root and play out. We come\, committed to breaking open that box whose walls separate us from ourselves and each other. \nOur community creates nurturing yet provocative processes for us to unmask and unburden ourselves\, face our fears\, speak our truths\, and heal from wounds carried for decades. Among us\, we’ve faced death\, battled depression\, been through divorce and dating. We’ve lost jobs\, love\, and hope and then found reasons and resources to be happy again. Children\, cancer\, partners\, parents — someone here shares your struggle or has found a solution outside the box. \nWatch the “Out of Our Heads” trailer recorded at the 2012 Men’s Wisdom Council\n  \nThe Men’s Wisdom Circle invites men to open the door to all they have forgotten and connect with a larger\, sacred story. For thousands of years\, men have gathered together — told stories\, faced danger\, hunted\, and done what must be done to protect and serve what we’ve loved. Together we’ve celebrated the joys and grieved the losses that came with these tasks. \n \nToday\, our greatest dangers are not “out there” anymore. The frightening darkness lies inside the human soul. But the need for courage\, mythic guidance\, and good companionship is no less than ever. MWC invites men to reclaim our potential to be heroic. Some who come here find their way from the head to the heart and are shocked — even stunned — by the richness of their inner life as ritual\, breathwork\, community\, and communion bring them face to face with a self far larger than the self they thought they knew. Their stories brim with passion\, playfulness\, or power. Others find friendship\, the excitement\, and exuberance they felt as children\, or the commitment to follow a dream worth living. \nWe invite you to come join us for a week of wonder and wildness\, a week you won’t forget. This year\, in a smaller and more intimate setting\, we’ll explore the themes inherent in a classic myth or legend to illustrate the need for initiation into the brotherhood of men. In these classic stories\, our hero must leave behind all that’s expected and prescribed to follow the lure of what’s wild and natural… a necessary journey to discover his unique and authentic self… and to claim a path that’s powerful and a purpose large enough for his soul. \n\nDirections\n\n\n\nFrom Boston\, Eastern Massachusetts: Take Route 2 West to Charlemont\, MA.   Then\, take Route 8A South 6 miles to West Hill Road.  Turn Right and continue up the hill for one mile.\nFrom Hartford\, Most of Connecticut: Take I-91 to Route 2 in Greenfield\, MA (Exit 26). Then take Route 2 west to Charlemont\, MA. Next\, take Route 8A south 6 miles to West Hill Road. Turn right and continue up the hill for one mile. \nFrom New York City: Drive to Hartford\, Connecticut\, then follow directions above.\n\nNote: From Northampton\, Hartford or New York City\, you may be able to save a few minutes by taking back roads as shown on the map above. More turns are involved\, and the roads may be less well maintained in winter weather. \nBeware! Some computer map programs or GPS devices will suggest routes that involve roads which have been closed for decades!  Refer to this map \nAlso – The last mile is very steep.  Cell phones don’t work as you get closer to Stump Sprouts.   \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nFood: \nOur meal times will be somewhat flexible to accommodate the timing of the various exercises and activities\, but in general we will have dinner in the evenings around 6:30 or 7:00… Mornings — coffee/tea/light snack will be out early\, with breakfast around 8:00. Lunch will be something simple – bread\, cold cuts\, condiments to make sandwiches\, etc. Snacks will be available most times. \nOur kitchen organizer and we’ll create a schedule whereby everyone will contribute to the preparation and clean-up. \nLodging: \nThe week takes place at Stumpsprouts Retreat c Center – www.stumpsprouts.com in Hawley\, MA. \nThe Stumpsprouts Guest Lodge: \nHand-built and furnished almost entirely with wood harvested from our land\, the Lodge has seven guest rooms\, a large living room and a complete kitchen and dining room. Everywhere there are large windows taking in the magnificent view. Lofts\, cozy nooks\, art work\, plants\, and a fireplace. \nNot exactly a hotel\, motel or B&B\, this place is in a unique category of its own. In keeping with our simple philosophy\, overnight guests share bathrooms and bring their own sleeping bags\, sheets and blankets\, pillows\, & towels (we do have a limited number of sets for rent if you cannot do this for some reason). \nAll rooms have a double bed in them and most have a single or bunk bed as well. Rooms are decorated with original art\, barn board\, old farm implements\, etc. \nThe lodge has 20+ beds\, and if that’s not enough\, the west end of the farmhouse across the street has a separate entrance with three additional bedrooms\, two bathrooms\, living room and screened porch. Camping on the land is also an option. Limited wireless internet available via satellite at no charge. \n\nWhat to Bring\n\n\nBring clothing appropriate to the season (summer) and weather. We will be spending some time outdoors each day\, so it’s important to bring clothing that will keep you comfortable. \nStumpsprouts provides beds with a mattress and bottom sheet\, but you must bring a pillow and your own bedding. Most people bring a sleeping bag\, but you can bring sheets and blankets if you prefer. Also bring whatever personal toiletries you require\, a writing pad or journal\, a pen or pencil\, and whatever sacred or ritual objects are important to you. We will have a central altar to remind us of our connection to a Greater Story\, and you can add your energetic presence to the space by bringing things that are significant to you. \nDrums\, rattles\, and musical instruments are also encouraged. Part of reclaiming our lost selves is learning and expressing ourselves in ways that are outside of our habitual tendency to stay in our heads. \nClothes: \nYou should bring towels\, toiletries\, and comfortable clothing. In June we can expect warm temperatures during the day\, but cool nights are possible. \n\nBoots: Light hiking and other footwear for sitting/relaxing time.\nRaincoat or poncho;\nJacket\nClothes for warm weather: Shorts\, T-shirts\, light shirt\nSomething for your head: A bandana may be adequate\, but if it is sunny (we hope)\, a hat which shades your face will be welcome.\nClothes for cool weather: Hat\, light jacket.\n\nOther Equipment: \n\nSmall day pack\, flashlight\nJournal\, pen or pencil.\nWater bottle.\n\nPersonal items: \n\nToiletries –  toothbrush\, paste\, floss\, biodegradable soap\, hairbrush\, towel\, washcloth\, razor\, etc. Sunscreen\, sunglasses\, Chap Stick\nBedding: sleeping bag or sheets and blankets; pillow\nInsect repellant\n\nOptional items: \n\nMusical instrument\nSacred or ritual objects

SUMMARY:Workshop\, The Dreamtime\, Vermont
DESCRIPTION:Guided by: Sparrow Hart \n\n\n	Workshop The Dreamtime\, VT\n	$850.00\n\n	\n	\n \n \n Choose your payment option\n \n \n \n \n Pay Deposit \n \n \n \n \n Pay in Full \n \n \n \n	\n \n \n	\n\n \n Workshop The Dreamtime\, VT quantity\n	\n	\n\n Add to cart\n\n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	Category: Workshop\n	\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscover a Dream Worth Living\n  \nWe live within a magical universe\, and yet we’re often unaware of what’s within and all around us. In this workshop we’ll dive deep\, immersing ourselves in dreams and nature\, moving beyond the boundaries of personal reality into broader\, fluid\, and more imaginative experiences of ourselves and the world. \nWe sit in the present\, at the axis where past and future meet. We have a decision to make: will our lives and identity be determined by where we have come from or where we are going? \nThe myth of modern psychology — its focus and truth — is that our lives are determined by our past: our personal history\, wounds and childhood experience. The myth of the ancient world… its focus and truth… is that our lives are\, or can be\, determined from another place — our destiny and future — if we follow the voice of the spirit\, the whisper of dreams\, the calling of our souls. \n \nIn the ancient maps of consciousness\, non-rational states were cultivated\, and a cornucopia of methods were developed to achieve expanded energies and states of ecstatic union. Through simple but profound practices\, we will reclaim and remember this natural heritage of being human\, experiencing a larger sense of ourselves and the alchemy it can bring to our lives and people. \nOver these four days\, men and women will be guided to deeper levels of their being\, to a vision beyond their personal stories. Facing and healing our past and personal history is a prerequisite for broader states of awareness\, but by itself\, insufficient. Dreams are an opening to a larger story\, each one an invitation to explore beyond everyday boundaries. In dreams\, life is limitless; time is fluid; our sense of self\, unbounded. What luxury to spend several days immersed in this realm during the beautiful Vermont summer! \nWe’ll share exercises for finding our true nature in nature\, processes to embrace the unknown and align ourselves with energies that are immediate and eternal. Learning to perceive the ‘Spirit in all things’ as a living presence in our lives\, we’ll dance with the ephemeral tracks of dream until we find solid footing on a path with heart. \nNature is the visible face of the spirit. It is to nature — both the outer mother\, Gaia\, and our own internal nature — that the soul finds rest\, renewal\, and vision. There we come closer to the Source\, the wellspring of life where Earth\, Spirit\, Nature\, and God are one. \nShould unexpected circumstances make your participation impossible\, and you notify us at least a month prior to your scheduled starting date\, your registration deposit may be applied toward another program taking place within a year of your registration. We cannot provide any refunds for cancellations or postponements received less than 30 days before a program starts. You will receive a full refund for any courses canceled by Circles of Air and Stone\, although this happens rarely. \n\nDirections\n\n\nAddress: \n130 Banning Road\nPutney\, Vermont\n05346 \nInterstate 91 runs north-south from New Haven\, Connecticut through western Massachusetts and half-way up the eastern side of Vermont. There is a bus service from any of these airports\, and from most cities in the New England / New York area to Brattleboro\, VT. Brattleboro is approximately 10 miles south of Putney. If you make arrangements in advance\, we can most likely pick you up at the bus station in Brattleboro. \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nFood:\nFood will be provided\, and we’ll share preparation and clean-up responsibilities for breakfasts and dinners. There will be fixings for lunches put out on a table\, but no formal plans for a group meal. SUMMARY:Workshop\, Crossroads: Activating a Life of Passion and Purpose
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Crossroads: Activating a Life of Passion and Purpose\n	$550.00\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n \n Pay a deposit of $200.00 per item \n	\n\n \n Workshop Crossroads: Activating a Life of Passion and Purpose quantity\n	\n	\n\n Add to cart\n\n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	Category: Workshop\n	\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nA Nature-Based Journey into the Depths of Soul & Psyche for Young Adults (ages 22-32) \nCost — sliding scale\, $300 – $550 \n \nThere is no richer journey than one defined by meaning\, passion\, and integrity. But our world demands so much: to make a living\, to keep up with an ever faster pace\, to live more sustainably\, to make a difference. It can be difficult to figure out how to live in a way that works for both you and the world. These times call for adults — YOU! — who are intentionally moving forward with passion and purpose\, aware of your strengths and weaknesses as you define them; not society\, not your families\, not your friends. \nThe Crossroads program will help you discover what you can do in this world. By stepping outside the rhythm\, routine\, and value systems of everyday life\, you’ll have a chance to hit “pause”; to engage with the more-than-human world in the rich landscape of Arizona’s high-mountain desert and explore with others like yourself what’s essential and relevant to you. \n \nWhether you’re a seeker\, a healer\, a wanderer or something else; whether you’re drawn to community activism\, to the environment\, to quietly raising a healthy family\, or something else … this program will help you define what your impact looks like. It’s an invitation to create\, embody and enact your vision\, and to chart your path forward. \nThis program has a sliding scale from $300 – $550. The high-end of the scale reflects the value we believe the program holds\, and the low-end offers a more accessible entry point while ensuring we cover all costs. By choosing a higher price point you are helping make the program more accessible to others for whom the low-end may be cost-prohibitive. \nOur hope is that all who feel drawn to this workshop are able to participate.  If the program cost is a barrier\, please contact us to discuss options around financial assistance. We are committed to making this work accessible to all who want to be involved. \nGuided by: Lauren Chambliss and Len Fleischer… Assisted by: Amanda Rader and Eben Coenen (see “About Us”) \n  \n“A vision without a task is just a dream\nA task without a vision is just a job\nBut a vision with a task can change the world.” \n~ Chief Seattle \n\nDirections\n\n\nThe workshop will take place at  the Deep Dirt Institute in Patagonia\, AZ\, about an hour from Tucson.  Detailed directions will be sent upon registration\, or if preferable\, Google Maps or GPS will get you where you need to go. \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nLodging: \nThis is an all-camping retreat\, and participants must bring their own camping gear. A suggested gear list  will be included under “What to Bring” \nFood: \nBreakfast and dinner are included each day. Please bring snacks and simple food for mid-day. \nVolunteers who chip in with set-up and clean-up around meals are welcome. \n\nWhat to Bring\n\n\nParticipants will be camping\, so please bring a tent\, sleeping bag\, and some kind of sleeping mattress or pad\, etc. – whatever you need to be comfortable.  Bring towels\, toiletries\, and loose-fitting clothing. \nClothes: \nWe should have reasonably warm temperatures during the day\, but cool evenings and nights are possible\, so plan for this when you bring clothing. SUMMARY:Workshop\, The Call to Adventure\, Massachusetts
DESCRIPTION:Guided by: Sparrow Hart and Daniel Roden\nWe require a $350 deposit and a commitment to the entire program (3 weekends). If you’re unsure\, you may come to the first weekend and decide before leaving on Sunday. \n\n\n	Workshop The Call to Adventure\, MA\n	$1\,050.00\n\n	\n	\n \n \n Choose your payment option\n \n \n \n \n Pay Deposit \n \n \n \n \n Pay in Full \n \n \n \n	\n \n Pay a deposit of $350.00 per item \n	\n\n \n Workshop The Call to Adventure\, MA quantity\n	\n	\n\n Add to cart\n\n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n	Category: Workshop\n	\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nA Series of Three Weekends: May 17 – 19… June 7 – 9… June 28 – 30\n  \n \nHistorically\, all cultures have created (and demanded) rites of passage\, some form of severance in which the child bids goodbye to dependency in order to become an adult. The Call to Adventure is for men and women ready to discover their strength and gifts\, and to stand up and claim them… people longing to listened to and mirrored in realistic and authentic ways… people ready to be validated in a supportive community of equals outside their family’s or culture’s view of the world. It’s for people willing to celebrate and affirm their strengths\, move beyond any past stories of victimhood\, and see their lives as a quest for authenticity and vision. \n  \n  \n \nThis series can be considered a “gateway program\,” an introduction and deep exploration of the human side of the “human nature in Nature” offerings of Circles of Air and Stone. Meeting over three weekends\, we’ll explore what it means to live heroically as we discover hidden ways we may still be imprisoned by mother’s – father’s — culture’s view of who we should be\, and how these stories and wounds express themselves in our relationships and lives. With the help of archetypal psychology\, psychodrama\, fierce truth-telling\, and other ritual and evocative processes\, we’ll cut those cords that hold us to a child’s view of the world and break out of the superficial and soul-deadening roles our culture lays out for us. \n  \nIn The Call to Adventure we engage in rituals to access the heroic and integrate what’s been lost. Exploring our gold and Shadow\, facing our monsters and finding our allies\, we’ll enter our personal Unknown to find our power and gifts while creating self-trust and a nurturing\, healthy adulthood. Discovering and embracing a larger story and context for our lives will lead us to a bigger “dream\,” one that can support and guide us through life as well as heal our relationships\, families\, and communities. \n  \n\nDirections\n\n\nWe will meet at Earthlands Retreat Center in Petersham\, MA. \nDriving: \nIf you are coming from Connecticut or New York\, access Interstate 91\, which runs north-south from Hartford and New Haven to Vermont. Take Interstate 91 to Route 2 East\, in Greenfield\, Massachusetts. If you are coming from Vermont\, take I-91 south to Route 2 east. \nRoute 2 runs east-west across the whole state of Massachusetts. To get on Route 2 from Interstate 91\, take Exit 27 in Greenfield\, and head east\, following the signs pointing to Boston. Proceed east on Route 2 about 25 miles until you come to ¬Exit 17. The signs will say “Route 32\, Petersham. \nTake Route 32 south for about 6 miles until coming to the center of Petersham. In the center of town you will turn left (just past the country store) on East St. \nProceed on East Street for about 2.3 miles and turn left on Glasheen Rd. (It will be the third left you come to\, and there will be a sign for Earthlands). Drive up Glasheen Rd and follow the signs to “Parking.” You can drive up to the lodge\, unload your gear\, and then bring your car back to the parking lot. \nIf you are coming from Boston\, take Route 2 west to exit 17\, and proceed south on Route 32 as described above. Route 32 intersects Route 2 about 4 or 5 miles beyond the point in Athol where Route 2 ceases to be a divided highway. \n\nFood and Lodging\n\n\nFood: \nThe ingredients for the main meals will be provided\, but each month\, participants will bring a contribution to our meals together. This could be snacks\, juice\, breads\, etc. We’ll let you know. \nOur meal plan will be somewhat flexible to accommodate the timing of the various exercises and activities we will do on the weekends\, but in general it will look something like this: \n\nFriday evening – no meal\, but snack food will be available.\nSaturday morning –  Coffee/tea/light snack early.\nBrunch will be a major meal\, generally happening around 10:30 AM.\nDinner will be the other major meal of the day. This could happen as early as 5:00 or as late as 8:00 depending on our work together. Snacks will be available.\nSunday morning will be a breakfast\, after which we will clean up and finish our work.\n\nLodging: \nThe weekends will take place at Earthlands retreat Center in Petersham\, MA \nEarthlands provides beds with a mattress\, but you must bring your own bedding.
